The hammer is no more

The cross member is now welded in, holding the gearbox securely in place;  the hammer’s back in the toolbox.

Now work can start on the framework to hold in the batteries – all six of them.  Two will be mounted in the front of the Fiesta’s engine bay (see hands in above photo!) and four behind (above and to the left of the gearbox).

Once the batteries are in, the drive shaft connected and a replacement speedo cable found, the wiring challenge will begin!  Back later next week with more updates from Nunney Road Garage, but in the meantime, here’s the boot of the car containing various spares.
