Well, well, well, hasn’t it been a long time! Happy new motoring year to you all.
Fear not electric car fans, our Frome project is still underway and we’re proud to report – now moving along at a respectable pace.
The latest is that little Feenix the Fiesta is no longer a forlorn and lonely wet figure, hanging around a motor garage getting in the way, but is instead sitting proudly in new surroundings. Loved.
Hooray!
The car is being tenderly cared for by Andy at Innertar in Frome, who has spent a few days building snug little racks for each precious battery to be used under the bonnet. See below photo:
The clever chaps at Innertar are confident of getting at least 80 mph out of little Feenix (maybe even 100!), at 35-50 mpg. They’re into performance. A refreshing change.
Now the battery cradles have been fitted by the team, they’re in the process of wiring it all up. The components will then be encased it to make it all waterproof and tidy.
Question is, how many miles will the car go? Innertar reckons between 30 and 50 on a single charge.
Dan Chubb, owner of the Frome garage hopes to get the car out for a test run this month – and upload a video of this to YouTube.
Not long to go until Feenix will be purring along the streets of Frome.
It’s all go with right now, so we’ll report back shortly.
